柱子和钱辉是警校的同窗好友毕业后，柱子当上了一名刑警，而钱辉却为了自身的发展，告别女友伊静去了日本。几年以后，柱子已成了二级警司，伊静则被日本浜之助公司聘用。一天，柱子在伊静家意外地与自称回国做生意的钱辉相遇。在伊静的引见下，钱辉与浜之助的佐藤相识。与此同时，柱子接手侦破一个伪造假钞案。印制假钞的案犯被抓获，但假钞的模版却不知去向。据查，浜之助公司的佐藤与岩下均与此案有关。为掌握确凿证据，柱子奉命对他们进行监控。正在佐藤为转移模版而焦虑时，钱辉找上门来。看到钱辉手中的联络信号，佐藤将信将疑，因为他意料中的联络人是田中。柱子截获了佐藤发往东京的电传，遂派人密切监视虹桥机场，等待田中到来。
